No. Soundsfare doesn’t host music or compete with Spotify or Apple. It simply ensures artists are fairly paid based on actual listening history.

It uses each listener’s history (minutes played — not number of plays). At the end of the month, their pledge is split proportionally across the artists they spent the most time with.

Yes. They can remove individual artists from their split or apply filters like “mega artists” (who already earn plenty). Deceased artists are always excluded from payout by default.

Listeners decide: either redistribute the skipped share automatically across other artists, or assign it manually to the ones they want to support.

Their artist page is created automatically and their funds are held. If they claim their page within 3 months, they get paid. Otherwise, the listener can choose to redistribute the funds or reclaim them.

Artists connect a Stripe account (fast, secure, global). Once the listener confirms their monthly split, payouts happen automatically.

Soundsfare allows manual upload of listening history, which is processed the same way.

Yes. Listening data is used exclusively to calculate fair splits. All users can export or delete their data at any time. Soundsfare is fully GDPR-compliant.
